Most privacy policies are long because the site behind them collects a lot. This one is short for the opposite reason.
This site sets no cookies of its own. It has no forms, no newsletter, no accounts, no advertising trackers, and no social media widgets. There is nothing on any page that asks you for information, and nothing that follows you to another site.
What follows is the complete account.
What is collected automatically
Server logs. Like nearly every web server, ours records the request: an IP address, the page requested, the date and time, the referring page if there is one, and the browser's user-agent string. This is standard operational data, used to keep the site running and to see whether something is broken. It is not linked to a person and is not used to build a profile.
Aggregate traffic measurement. The site is served through Cloudflare, which provides a privacy-preserving measurement of page views. It sets no cookies and does not follow visitors between sites. What it produces is counts — how many people read a page, roughly where in the world they were, which browser they used.
Search Console. Google reports, in aggregate, which search queries showed this site and how often they were clicked. This shows totals, never individuals.
What is not collected
- No cookies set by this site
- No advertising or retargeting pixels
- No analytics that follow you across other websites
- No email addresses, names, postal addresses or payment details, because nothing here asks for them
- No accounts, no logins, no saved preferences
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no agreed standard for what a site should do in response, and many sites say so and then ignore it.
This site honours it by construction rather than by promise: it runs no cross-site tracking to disable. Whether the signal is on or off, nothing about your visit is followed anywhere else.
What happens when you telephone
This is the part that involves someone other than us, so it deserves plain language.
The telephone number on this site is a tracked number provided by an advertising network. When you call it, the call is routed to an independent, licensed pest control operator. The network records details of the call — the number you dialled from, the time, the duration, and in some cases a recording — because that is how it establishes that the call happened and who should be paid for it.
That information is handled by the network and by the operator you are connected to, under their own policies, not this one. We receive a notification that a call took place and its billing status. We do not receive recordings.
If you would rather not use a tracked number, every page tells you how to find a licensed operator directly: the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services publishes a public list of licensed pesticide businesses, and the licensing section explains how to search it. You lose nothing by going that way.
Third parties involved in running the site
| Who | What they see | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | requests to the site, including IP addresses | serves the pages, provides the certificate, filters attacks |
| The advertising network | details of calls placed to the site's number | routes the call, measures it for billing |
| Google Search Console | aggregate search queries and clicks | shows how the site performs in search |
None of these receives information you typed into this site, because there is nowhere on this site to type anything.
Children
This site is written for adults dealing with property, tenancy and contracts. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
If you are in California
California's Online Privacy Protection Act requires this notice, and the sections above are written to satisfy it: the categories of information collected, the third parties involved, how you are told about changes, and how the site responds to Do Not Track.
The California Consumer Privacy Act applies to businesses above certain thresholds — annual revenue, volume of consumer data, or revenue derived from selling personal information. This site meets none of them, so its obligations do not currently apply. The site does not sell or share personal information for advertising in any case, and there is nothing to opt out of.
If that changes, this page changes with it, and the revision date at the top will say when.
Your requests
There are no accounts here and no stored profile to correct, so most requests have nothing to act on. If you believe the site holds something about you and want it removed, write and it will be dealt with.
For call records, write to the advertising network or the operator you spoke to — they hold that data, not us.
Changes to this notice
Material changes are made by revising this page, and the date at the top changes with them. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
